Charming algarvean cottage with swimming pool and beautiful views Location: Monte Serra near by  Sta. Estevão, just outside Tavira. The owners have spent many years to restore it's original features, of which there are many and they have truly been able to create a unique ambiance on one of the most beautiful locations in the Eastern Algarve. It is a comfortable little dream house for two people. The cottage is self-contained with luxurious details and terra cotta floor tiles through out. The tick walls and the high ceilings with wooden beams and cane keep the house cool in summer and warm in winter. Tropical wood from Africa has been used in the bedroom and bathroom. From the large bathtub you can enjoy a view of the surrounding hills. The cottage benefits from air conditioning and a beautiful two faced wood burner stove - one side faces the kitchen with dining room, the other faces the bedroom - making this a very comfortable house to stay in all year round. There is a fully equipped open plan kitchen with a sitting- and dining area, a large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The bathroom consist of a bathtub, a shower, twin washbasins and a separate toilet. In front of the cottage there is a lovely patio with beautiful Bougainvillea, ideal for a late night dinner and to enjoy the marvelous views of the ocean. It's just paradise. If you like you can make an after dinner walk around the estate or alternatively enjoy a little walk in the palm tree garden. There is a 250 year old calçada pavement which partly surrounds the property.  This detached cottage is part of an estate comprising three houses, all for rent. The swimming pool with sea views has the shape of a large half-moon and is built on the old circular threshing floor, called an "eira". If you don't want to swim you can still enjoy the shade under the bamboo roofed pergola. There are loungers available. The beach of Pedras del Rei is the nearest beach available, only 3,5 kilometers away. Sta. Estêvão is a small Portuguese  village only minutes away. It is worthwhile to visit the old church and to enjoy a typical Portuguese dinner in the local restaurant. A car is essential and you can find details of available rental cars at very competitive prices on our website.  A car can be delivered to your property or may be collected from the parking outside of the arrival hall of Faro airport.
